Who am I…

A lot of people ask me why I eat a plant based diet. Do I feel healthier? Have you lost weight? What do you eat? It started as a self serving mission to be healthier and live longer by possibly avoiding diseases that plague my family. Then another layer came to mind. The environment. Based on statistics and research I’ve come across it appears to be better for the earth to eat a plant based diet. Then I really started to think about why I put so much effort into a plant based lifestyle. I’ve always been an animal lover. But actually stoping to think about and watch what happens to these animals changed me. In stores nothing has a face, eyes or really resembles an animal. These items are simply thought of as fuel for survival and a means for culinary pleasure. I’m a believer in energy and karma. I believe when a terrified animal whether abused or treated ethically(if that exists) is about to be killed hormones and toxins release into their bodies. It’s like how stress and anxiety can cause disease or health issues in humans. Whether it’s spiritual or scientific, people are consuming these animals and their toxins or karma. I believe what you put into your body not only affects your health but also our minds and our soul. If you had to kill and butcher everything you ate would you still eat animals? Whether your answer is yes or no, I invite you to look at that. I personally thought I needed so much protein and meat to survive. I’m a 200 pound active male who is mentally and physically able to do just about anything. I thought I would possibly get sick or become weak. Here I am over a year later eating only plant based feeling mentally clear and maintaining a weight with out yo yo-ing constantly. It’s a lifestyle not a diet. It’s about your health, the earths health and compassion. Everything on this earth human or animal just wants to be loved, safe, recreate and thrive. Who am I to take that from them? Animals have souls and are very aware of what’s happening. There is no difference between your pet dog, cat, rabbit, cow, pig or chicken. Just someone decided hey we can eat these guys but these other animals are pets. We live in a society of made up rules and ideology. That’s doesn’t mean we act out and disobey them. That means we challenge them. We question them. We always pursue and strive to be better. We evolve and adapt using the information we have today not blindly following the beliefs of the few from years ago. In today’s world I believe anything is possible. That statement is proven true daily. I invite you to find out what’s possible for yourself by considering what rules and ideology you follow or believe to be true. Then challenge and question them. Anything that is true to you does not need justification or defending, just being. If you find yourself being defensive or angry that’s something you should explore.

What makes it beautiful

What are we doing as people? Are we really listening to those around us? Do we even truly see someone who is right in front of us? Are things really what they seem? Work, social media, possessions and looking good among other things have consumed many of our lives. Maybe not 24/7 for some but I have felt, lived and observed our lives consumed by so many things portrayed/perceived as so important. In my perfect world there would be nothing more important than the person or people around you. And I’m not just talking about family. I’m talking about your neighbor. The person in line in front of you. Anyone who crosses your path. But again that’s my perfect world which I don’t always live in personally. I’ve caught myself rushing to work and seeing someone on the side of the road obviously needing help. But I don’t stop. I continue on with my day as if my being on time for work or whatever I’m doing is more important than simply taking the time to help or maybe just check on another human being. This used to make me angry. Now I just feel sad. In some aspects the disconnect grows and grows. Other times I’m truly amazed by the consecutiveness surrounding me. It’s not my place to judge or dictate how ones life is lived. But I do feel it is all of our duties as human beings to question ourselves as well as others. To really take stock of what’s going on within and around us. A sense of awareness coupled with connection. Life is a beautiful thing and we all get to choose what makes it beautiful. I invite us all to choose willingly, considerately and knowingly.

A moment in time

Although I may not always respond or acknowledge (I’m working on that as well as my communication skills) I truly appreciate and value every response. Whether it is a like or sharing some words. It’s not natural or always easy for me to share. I’ve lived as though I’ve had something to hide for most of my life. Some who have known me longer might say I was very quite or shy. Then through sharing, listening and being vulnerable I’ve learned that a lot of us have similar feelings even if the actual circumstances are different or unique. This has given me and fed the urge to share. With this sharing I do my best to be intentional with my words and with my feelings. I hope to never offend or upset. Rather inspire and promote thoughts or questions. As I said before… the older I get the more questions I have. I believe our lives and the way we live our lives as a society deserves thought and questioning. Not in a way of making wrong or causing hate and upset. But in a way of making conscience choices based on our current level of knowledge. For me the times where I grow is when I obtain or experience a different perspective. A way of looking at something through a different lens. I believe everyone’s perspective has value no matter how offensive, thoughtful or ignorant it may appear. We all have lived through valuable experiences that shaped this perspective. So rather than arguing or just agreeing I invite us all to listen and ask questions so we can better understand each other and grow together. Because honestly no matter what your race, color , religion or belief is. You should take a moment to consider how it is just a miracle and incredible we are all here at this same moment in time.

In my heart

I’ve been really struggling lately with the realization that I won’t be home and able to spend as much time with my wife and daughter. For those who don’t know. We sold our home in CA and moved to AZ in July last year. This move was thought about for years but also there was a lot I never thought about. Since Charlotte was born 23 months ago I’ve been blessed with being able to be home the huge majority of the time. Something most fathers and some mothers do not have the luxury of experiencing. I’ve been present and able to create a unique bond with my family which has allowed us to grow and become closer. It makes me think about the impact this will have going forward. The impact on me is profound but I’m curious the impact on my daughter. Based on current situations I’m not sure the next child (when we decide to have one) will get the same time Charlotte received. It’s kinda like a real life experiment with real life results. I try not to project to far into the future but as I get older life seems to leave me with more questions than answers. I find myself questioning whether providing a certain lifestyle and certain luxuries are really going to matter. Or if my time/presence is more valuable than any object or lifestyle I could provide. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. I’m not looking for sympathy as I know how fortunate I am just to be here. In my heart I believe my time/presence is more valuable than anything but I constantly struggle with the balance aspect. Where is that line… when and where should I cross it?

The one to look up to

I always dreamt of having a little girl. Holding her, loving her and raising her. What I did not expect was the profound love I would receive in return. This girl is a lover of all things. Whether you are a person , animal or tree. She gently touches and smells the flowers as she walks by. She gently pets our dog Ziggy and says good boy. She says hello and lovingly touches the trees she encounters. She wraps her arms around your neck squeezing tight and says I love you. She is so deeply and thoughtfully connected with her surroundings. Sometimes I feel as if I’m the one being raised and she is the one to look up to. Her kindness and genuine love constantly remind me of what is true and what is valuable in life. That is just one of the many things my daughter taught me.

This isn’t a test

At times we may not see eye to eye. We all have had different experiences that have shaped our perspective. I believe everyone’s perspective is valuable. No matter how abrasive or pleasant it may seem. It’s in the listening, asking questions and understanding that we grow as humans. I myself struggle with this daily. My ego flares up and I get angry or just emotionally shut down. There is this need to be right and look as if we know exactly what we are doing at all times. I’m here to tell you it’s okay to not have a plan. It’s okay to not have it all together all the time. We are human beings living a life through the lens(perspective) of our hardships, our joys, our failures and our successes. That should never be discounted but it should be checked constantly by being open to others ideas and ways of seeing the world. Stop what you are doing and close your eyes. Take a deep breath and let it all out. Now imagine you are free to share your perspective without fear of rejection. Imagine you can be open and unafraid of judgement while going through your life. What does that look like? How does it feel? To me it felt like connection, a sense of relief and peace. This isn’t a test and your are encouraged to feel however you feel. I invite you to hold onto that feeling and examine it. Maybe try that in other aspects of your life. Being human isn’t just about being here. It’s about thriving and enjoying this journey we call life. I don’t know nor do I speculate what’s after this life. That’s for everyone to create and decide for themselves. I just want to invite you to make it the best journey you possibly can. Whatever that truly means to you. -Jeffrey

Charity=Love

Many of us have no idea what it’s like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink — even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I’m looking for anyone who can help me.

Please donate to my campaign — anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

This December the 8th 2018 marks 33 years on this earth for me. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve experienced a lot and I’ve received a lot. Although my life has its challenges as well as it’s ups and downs, I am beginning to realize just how fortunate and grateful I am. So to celebrate 33 incredible years, I am donating my birthday as well as my Christmas this year to help bring a basic daily necessity to as many people as possible. I stumbled upon The Rich Roll podcast, which introduced me to Scott Harrison who operates Charity Water which then led me to Charity Water’s YouTube channel.

With so many issues that need to be solved in this world it can be overwhelming. But for some reason this cause really sank deep into my heart. I invite you to visit YouTube and view some of Charity Water’s videos. Also check out their website. Honestly the thought of not being able to bathe our daughter regularly, her drinking disease infested water and potentially dying from something as basic as diarrhea or dehydration just shakes me to my core. I’ve realized how I have taken so much for granted. In our home we literally have 3 sources of fresh water. We have city water from the faucets and even clean water in our toilets. We have a reverse osmosis system at our kitchen sink which we use for cooking and rinsing food. We even pay monthly to have 5 gallon jugs of fresh spring water delivered which is strictly our drinking water. Our daughter has literally never had “Tap” water in her 1.5 years on this earth. We are fortunate to say the least. Although we will continue this way of living which we have worked hard to achieve. Now that we have seen what Charity Water is doing and the insane impact having clean water has on a community, we simply can not turn our backs and go on with our regularly scheduled lives. We feel it is our honor to help those in need and this is only the beginning. So I invite you to join me and donate $33 dollars to celebrate 33 wonderful years of my life. Feel free to donate more or less. Even $1 makes a difference. If donating isn’t your thing or something is holding you back, please reach out to me for more info any way and time. We aim to make a huge impact so we are also going to donate $33 dollars a month from December 2018 to December 2019. Asking for help is really out of my comfort zone but I’ve realized by doing nothing I’m contributing to the issues of the world. I realized that while I’m being afraid to ask for help or what others will think of me, people are dying. 33 isn’t just an age… it’s the turning point of my life and possibly yours. The year I stop letting possessions and vanity hold me back. The year we make a change which changes the lives of everyone around us.

Life and what to do with it.

I have been struggling lately. Trying to decide/figure out what I am supposed to be doing with my life. It is a big decision that I know is on everyone’s mind no matter how successful or wonderful your life may be. I by no means have a bad life. Like many of you I grew up with everything I needed and every opportunity. Life and the people in my life have been pretty good to me. Still something inside me strives and dreams of more. It has taken me along time to realize dreaming and wanting more does not mean you are ungrateful or greedy. It is in our nature to dream big and want it all. So do what you want with life and never apologize for the the dreams that come true or the dreams that never make it to reality.

Below is an article I received that inspired this post and inspired me to continue to dream and follow my dreams no matter how big, small or crazy they are. I dream of one day becoming a successful published writer. I dream of helping others whether it be financially or spiritually. Sharing your dream can be hard. You never know who is listening. You never know when that dream might come true. What are your dreams?

Today we would like to direct your attention to a wonderful quote on your world made by Albert Einstein that says: “Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on how well it can climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid” We think that this quote is a great way to introduce the topic we would like to direct your attention to today: your unique talents.

Each and every one of you has a specific skill set that is uniquely designed to help you achieve your goals. Each and every one of you are a very valuable piece of the puzzle. No one can fill your “shoes”, you are the only one who can accomplish the tasks that you have set out to achieve. Your role in this “play” is irreplaceable. Many of you look to others and desire to have the same skill sets or the same abilities as another; not realizing that your own skill set is as equally important. Another person’s skills will not help you to accomplish what you came here to do. You came here with everything that you would need to accomplish your goals; so just be yourself, everyone else is taken.

Many of you are beginning to notice that you are acquiring new abilities and new talents. We ask that you embrace them and nurture your new talents; for these are appearing at just the right “time”, exactly when you are ready to cultivate them. Some of you are now noticing that you can begin hearing the guidance of the higher realms, some of you are noticing that you can now feel another’s energy, some are now able to “see” into the higher realms if only just for a fleeting moment. Know that the more you accept these talents and these gifts, the more they will develop. Each path is unique, your gifts and abilities will unfold in just the right “time”.

No two paths are the same, and so therefore no two skill sets are the same. You came here for a very specific purpose, to shine your light as brightly as you could. You are all drawn to where your light is needed most at any given time. Everyone has their own unique piece that fits into the puzzle here in this grand experience. No two pieces are the same. No one else can shine your light better than you can. Each of you are so very important. So by comparing yourself to others, you are doing yourself a great injustice. You cannot compare how fast a cheetah runs to how strong an elephant is. Both are designed for two very different things; however both of their skill sets are of great value to them.

There are many who wonder, what am I supposed to be doing? How should I know what my skill set is for? By following what brings you the most joy. We have said this many times before, it really is just that simple. That’s how you find what you are supposed to do. Some love to paint, while others love to write, while others love to heal. None of these skills are better than another. All of these services are needed and they bring joy to many others because you are choosing to follow your joy.

Some are finding it hard to follow their joy because it will lead them down a path that they have learned to never walk. There are some who feel pressured by “outside” influences to “be” a certain person, or to “do” a certain profession, or to behave a certain way; anything outside of this expectation would be considered a “waste of time”. For instance there are many who love to cook, or sing or garden but they have grown up in a world that has taught them to stifle their dreams to ensure “stability” in their lives. But from our perspective there is no greater stability that can be ascertained than by following what one is passionate about. One who tries to follow another person’s dreams will never be able to achieve their own.

There is a fear amongst some that if they follow what they truly love to do, that they will have no way of “making a living” or “providing for their family”; we are certainly not suggesting that you walk away from your commitments however know that the best way to receive abundance is by doing what brings you the most joy. Do you really think that you would incarnate here with a true passion and desire for something and not also be equipped with the tools to achieve it? Doing something that you dislike, which does not feed your soul simply for the “need to survive” will never allow you to really blossom. You will never truly experience the pure elation that your soul feels when following your dreams if you continue to suppress what you are passionate about. Your unique gifts and abilities are directly connected to what will allow you to live your dreams. There is no greater feeling of bliss that can be experienced by a soul who has allowed themselves to exist in the synchronicity of the divine flow. A full leap is not necessarily required; why not try taking just one step? Many often say that they will “one day” do the things they love when they have more time; but a year from now you may wish that you started today.

We hope that this message has in some way inspired you to follow your joy and live the life of your dreams.

In love and light, we are your Angelic Guides.
